Metal Stands, Sand, Shot, Combo Advise

Have a couple Audiostream metal stands.

Stands: Single tube approx 20"H and 3 "diameter.

Bought 25 lb bag of shot and trying to decide on all shot, combination of or just get some sand ..... Shot was $22 U.S. and I can get a bag of play sand for under $5.00.

How much to fill complete, 3/4 or 1/2 etc. I assume fill top to bottom...

Based on what I could find on the net a number of sites state sand but I also get Shot from others.... At this time I lean towards combination for cost and weight etc. Any thoughts or advise
