Can anyone help me, I have a sub problem???

I have a box I bought from a friend, only cuz he needed money, it has: two Ultimate subs (12") rated 4 ohm 1230 peak watts on each. Is this right? The baskets & magnets look beefy, but not that beefy. Can anyone give me their opinion or specs 4 these subs?
