Buying Speakers - Slowly building a HT Posted by Jeff [IP: 192.35.39.37] on December 10, 1998 at 14:04:13: In Reply to: Buying Speakers - Slowly building a HT posted by Kaizersosz on November 28, 1998 at 03:13:28: : I have to say that I've had a little (very little) experience with setting up a home theater. My problem is what to do about the speakers. You see I don't want to go "all-out" and get very expensive speakers right away. I would like to spend a maximum of about $1500 to start. In the future, I would like to get better speakers, but I don't want the speakers I buy now to go to waste. I have a Yamaha RX-V2092 receiver. : : Also, I do need help with choosing a subwoofer and a center speaker. I was thinking of a M&K VX-7 Mark II as the sub. : Any opinions are highly appreciated. **I think I goofed my original reply. I bought: Sounds great for $1500. Center and sub a vital as they anchor the whole thing together. Don't skimp on these or you'll be dissappointed with the whole system. My system is in the basement so I needed a sub up to the task. The Paradigm rocks without being muddy.
