The MMG is THE killer speaker at the $500 point - if you don't need a lot of volume or bass output. They are definitely not for home theater as they are terribly power hungry, are limited in power handling and offer limited bass. In addition you are hard pressed to find a subwoofer "fast enough" to really integrate with the Maggie bass.

The MMG is a wonderful loudspeaker and an incredible bargain for the music oriented audiophile. I really enjoyed the clarity and neutral sound of the pair I had. They simply are not for home theater I feel. Magnepan did offer a home theater package, however the left/right main channel model has been dropped from the line.

: Has anyone listened to the Magnepan MMG's? How are these speakers for HT as opposed to music? What kind of amp would you need to drive them?
