Upgrade Sub: Will I Notice?

Currently I have a Klipsch 50W ($200) sub-woofer. Occasionally, at higher volumes, the sub sounds a little muddy. I'm pretty sure I have it set up properly, considering volume, crossover, speaker settings, etc. My room is 15x24 & is open to a kitchen area. Also, I have the Klipsch Synergy Quintet speakers & a Yamaha 795 receiver.

What will I notice with an upgraded sub? Will a Klipsch 100W make a noticable difference? Or, for the same $200 will I improve my results with an Energy ES8 or Infinity 100W? I'm not necessarily looking for louder, but perhaps a better blend at higher volumes. Any suggestions?
