I own both speakers: 5 LX5s in a surround sound system with a Mirage powered sub and 2 Take 5s in a music system, complementing two Mirage 760 towers and a Paradigm powered sub upstairs.
For music, I prefer the Energys. I tried substituting four LX5s upstairs and found the sound to be too bright in the midrange. The little Energys sound much more musical, especially at higher volumes.
But for movies, I think the LX5s are terrific.
