Bose Acoustimass-10 Questions Posted by Jeff Helmes [IP: 209.122.212.89] on December 31, 1998 at 19:55:56: In Reply to: Bose Acoustimass-10 Questions posted by George Weir on December 29, 1998 at 10:41:20: I second each of the past two posts. The "Bass Module" even with its "Adaptive Energy Summoning" is in no way, shape, or form a subwoofer--not even a passive sub. It is quite simply a remotely located woofer speaker. Simply place an ear close to module, and listen to all the midrange frequencies that spew forth. And get close to one of those Cubes, and listen to the awful racket. At 2-1/2" and its poor high range, it can hardly be considered a tweeter. Bottom line is that no true hi-fi speaker setup would use flimsy 100' long 16 gage wire with "convenient" RCA jacks as a connection. I had once proudly brought home AM-10s to replace a half-as-expensive (albeit much more intrusive) DCM-KX setup. I was immediately disappointed by its sound, especially considering its price.
