: : : : Has anyone form the states had any experience with going north for Paradigm speakers? I have family in Buffalo who would make the trip across the border for me but I want to know if it is worth it. : : : Howie, : : : I just went up to St Catherine's in Ontario(which is the nearest Paradigm dealer to Buffalo)to an audio place called Gibby's on 55 geneva street.Their : : : phone is 905 685 7611.It is not far from Buffalo(maybe 25 minutes away). We : : : bought Paradigm Monitor 7 speakers for : : : 700 canadian dollars:which means roughly 200 american dollars less than : : : what we would have paid for them if we : : : had bought them in the dealer in Buffalo. So,yes I think that it may be worth it. : : I ordered the CC-450 from Gibby's today for 550.00 Canadian and Im having my Mom pick them up for me next Sat. How are they to deal with at Gibby's? Did you get all the tax's back at the border or do you have to mail a form in? I am living in Memphis right now but I am from Buffalo and will be going home this spring and plan on getting the ADP-450's from there also if all goes well. : : Thanks for the reply: See my other post. During the same purchase, I got a pair of CC-450 for CDN$389 plus 14% in taxes (a misquote by the dealer -- lucky me). A couple of other dealers were willing to sell them for CDN$400 and CDN$450, respectively. Your CDN$550 price is also the Canadian suggested list price. For better savings, you may want to do some checking around for other Paradigm dealers for even more savings. : Dave Dave, Do you know the names of any other Paradigm dealers in Canada that are close to Buffalo? Besides Gibby's Thanks..Howie
