sub wiring, HT hookup Posted by Roy Miu [IP: 203.116.61.132] on January 08, 1999 at 09:44:08: In Reply to: sub wiring, HT hookup posted by oversteer on January 07, 1999 at 23:30:33: I hope you can also help me setup my Yamaha RX-V995 receiver and a Paradigm PS1000 sub-woofer. My sub-woofer is connected to the sub-out of my receiver. The main L/R, center speakers are set to small and the LFE is set to SW. According to the user manual, all frequencies under 90 hz will be routed to the sub-woofer. However, when a frequency sweep is made with my sub-woofer switched off, I can still hear output between 45 - 90 hz from my main speakers. The frequency sweep was played on my CD player and the receiver was set to normal 2 channel stereo without any DSP program. My question is what did I do wrong? Could it be the settings I made are only for surrond playback and not for stereo playback? How should I setup my receiver to route only frequencies below 90 hz to the sub-woofer? Thanks in advance.
