FM Reception

Does anyone know a way to improve FM reception? Here is my situation:

I live 120 miles south of Chicago. There is an FM channel there I would desperately like to receive. I cannot pick up any signal at all on my receiver...however if I go into my garage and open my garage door and turn on my car radio, I pick it up very well!! All I can figure is my garage faces due north and that the garage is acting almost like a satellite dish and focusing the signal where I can get it.

I've tried a few different power antennas with no luck. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I could try to get this station (other than moving my receiver into the garage!!!)

NOTE: The neighborhood I live in does not allow large outside antennas.
