I own an RT based system. Been using the RT's since April '98, never had a problem with tweeters. Polk Audio people are great to work with, they are very helpful, and will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy after the sale. Example: I thought that the amps in one pair of speakers were shutting down too quickly when no bass was present---not exactly a "broken" system. Polk shipped, at their cost, a new pair of amps to me UPS Blue.

I've heard grouching on the 'net about Polk, but I've never heard anything like that in person, much less from a dealer! What store are you shopping at that bad-mouths a product line they carry? And what are they trying to sell you instead?

This is pure speculation on my part: Polk speakers do come to life at higher volumes, and play pretty darned loud. I wonder if the tweeter legend is rooted in folks who don't know better driving their electronics into clipping?
