Polk tweeters

I have definitely had problems with Polk's tweeters. They tend to crackle or distort with mid range frequencies like choir music, or heavy orchestra (violens and moog organs). Fortunately, the problem seems to exist only in a very small range of frequencies. Most of the time, it is difficult to tell.


I still have Polk's all around (9 speakers). I discovered the problem in the LS f/x surrounds first. Then, I noticed that it was present in some form in all of the speakers. I have sent back three sets of LS f/x's. I finally had to canabolize the three sets so that I could grab the best four tweets out of the last two sets. Right out of the box, you could readily identify good tweets and bad ones.
