FM Reception Posted by Alan L. Maier [SysOp] [IP: 129.37.205.144] on January 11, 1999 at 20:09:52: In Reply to: FM Reception posted by Dan Herrmann on January 11, 1999 at 14:00:36: Dan, Good tip! Just as silly (but not really)... I will cut off a short lenth of speaker wire for an FM antenna and do quite well. At work we had a long run of speaker wire to a pair of extension speakers which we removed. Just for the heck of it, we connected that 50+ foot wire to the antenna terminals on the cheap 25w/ch Scott receiver that is there now, and we can get stations on that $99 (when new) receiver like crazy! Alan : Don't laugh, but I found that a good old $3 dipole antenna worked best for me. I tried Terk and other brands. I tried rabbit ears. : But the Radio Shack dipole did the trick for me. Try to get it outdoors and keep it as horizontal as possible. Heck - give it a shot - it's only 3 bucks!
