Jimmy,

I have a friend who has a Denon 2400 with the Take 5 system, and I've listened to it quite a bit. It is a very nice setup for movies, but when listening to music there is an obvious lack of upper bass, where the subwoofer is crossing over to the little satellites. It is a great bargain for the price, but if you listen to music most of the time, I think you will be disappointed.

I have the Energy e:XL16s in my system as surround speakers, and I've been very happy with them. They have decent bass for a speaker of their size, and they don't try to go too low - you can only get so much bass out of a cabinet this size, with a 6.5" driver. They play very clean, and I imagine they would be fantastic with the right subwoofer.

I'd take a look at 4 e:XL16s with the Energy 10" sub.

Remember to audition them with one of your own CDs, or a CD that you are very familiar with. A good salesperson will always pick a CD that sounds good with the set of speakers he wants to sell you (the one he'll make the most money off of, not necessarily the best).

Regards,

Steve
