Robert,

I wouldn't store tapes that close to a shielded speaker. CDs shouldn't be a problem because they are optical media.

Contact the manufacture of the sub and ask their advice. They are the only ones that know the magnetic fields that they generate, maybe. Ask them how close you can put their unit to a regular TV screen which should be more sensitive that tapes would be.

Hope this helps, Don

: I am designing a cabinet for my audio-video room, and the best general configuration puts the Velodyne UDL-15 fairly close to a magnetic media drawer (top of SW 3-4" from lowest part of drawer). Anyone know the reasonable safe distance for this SW from these media? Or, is there any shielding that can be used?
