I have a pair of CDM7SEs and they sound super clear. In the Aug. 1998 Home Theater, they gave them a 92. I have almost the exact setup they describe in their artical and it does sound and look great(Yamaha DSP-A1, CDM7SEs, and the Panasonic A310 DVD player).
I set the CDM7s so they do not have to carry any of the bass (because of a powered sub) and that helps the already excellent clarity. I am completely satisfied and am in the process of getting the CMD1s to be the surround speakers. Good Luck. Steve
