Best Bass Speaker for my BOSE SYSTEM? Posted by Kris on September 29, 1998 at 14:09:25: In Reply to: Best Bass Speaker for my BOSE SYSTEM? posted by Brad on September 29, 1998 at 11:58:53: Hey thanks a ton!! I agree with finding some mids also, and have been looking quite a bit. The funny thing is I have read all the negative reviews about the BOSE speakers, but have been more then extremely happy with their performance. It was funny when I went into some electronic stores (Ultimate, Circuit City, etc.) and I told him to play the best thing he had for clarity. He put on the bose and I was thinking it was these huge ones on the ground. Come to find out it was a bose box speaker sitting on top of it that was making all that noise! so I bought them, and have been very happy with them! With my DVD player, and Onkyo amp It is just amazing! But like I said before its missing some of the low ends. Here is what Id like to do ideally! Let me know what your thoughts are... Keep my BOSE (10 cubes, 2 front, left, right, and left and right surround, then the weak sub it comes with.) Then buy two midrange subs. Put those between my left front and left surround and one between my right front and right surround. Then buy an 18 inch tower like the DT that you recommended and put those on both sides of my tv screen. That way I'll have two towers, that have mids and lows in front and also the weak sub from the BOSE. Then 5 sourround sound BOSE, and two mid's on the sides. Of course I'm going to need these extra speakers to be active and not passive, or I'm going to need to buy a preamp. Thoughts, Ideas, critiques?? Thanks!
