Best Bass Speaker for my BOSE SYSTEM?

Ken,

At the budget end of the Subwoofer market I have found a few that do a credible job for very little money. Audiophiles and videophiles might freak at this suggestion, but the JBL PSW-1200 will get the job done for cheap. It is a basic 12" 120 watt subwoofer with a power limiter (to limit overdriving) and bass extention down to around 32Hz in the real world. The key to why I am suggesting the JBL is two-fold - it is seriously discounted and of the low cost subs it has plenty of "oomph". J&R Music World has it listed for $249, and I have seen it elsewhere as well. Best Buy has their own line of JBL products and the PSW-1000/1200 is not part of that and I can't comment on what they do have. I have owned a PSW-1000 (10" version) and it really did a good job for the pittance it cost.

Have fun!

Alan

: I too have the Bose Accostimas for my front speakers and flush mount JBLs (6" with 1" Titanium tweeters) in the rear and am waiting to upgrade to a DD/DTS receiver in the next couple of weeks and want a subwoofer to add to the system for a room that is 12'x 24'. What would be the best recommendation for a decent powered sub that would work in this size room? I want to spend as little as possible, so I would even consider buying used if I knew what to look for.

: I have seen Klipsh at Best Buy for $200 but I don't even know what size or power I need. My receiver is going to be a Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha, or HK in the 80 watt range.

: Any suggestions would be appreciated.

: Thanks,

: Ken
