Best Bass Speaker for my BOSE SYSTEM? While more money than the JBL I listed, Yamaha sure does have a good reputation for good subs and modest cost. Sadly the Mission (a brand I have liked for years) isn't affordable in most stores 'State side. Paradigm offers some good competition in the price range of the Yamaha '300 - but I don't believe they have the output capability. Later, Alan : Alan, : I've been looking at budget sub-woofers recently and two models spring to mind. For movie reproduction, the Yamaha YST-SW300 is an excellent buy, it could reach -20dB on a THX sub-peek limiter with a tone of 62Hz before distortion began. For musicality, the Mission 70As proved to be a surprise. Although less capable of motion picture bass (-36dB before distortion), it does have infinitely variable high-level high-pass filters. :
