B&W CDM7SE Posted by Alex Lehmann on October 08, 1998 at 11:23:40: In Reply to: B&W CDM7SE posted by Steve Doerr on September 27, 1998 at 16:21:17: : : : I have a pair of CDM7SEs and they sound super clear. In the Aug. 1998 Home Theater, they gave them a 92. I have almost the exact setup they describe in their artical and it does sound and look great(Yamaha DSP-A1, CDM7SEs, and the Panasonic A310 DVD player). How would the CDM1SEs sound as satellites cut off at 80Hz with a powered sub? Unfortunatley, I don't have the $ for the CDM7SEs, but would like to upgrade my front speakers, nonetheless. I currently have the DM602s and CC6 from B&W running them off the Yamaha RX-V2092, but I don't get the depth I am looking for. I can upgrade my speakers once a year at the store I purchased them from, so I can exchange my DM602s, pay the difference and get the CDM1SEs. I can always get the CDM7SEs next year by upgrading the CDM1SEs. I am also concerned about the price. I feel the store might want to charge me MSRP every time I upgrade. I don't mind paying an extra $50-100 for the opportunity to upgrade, but more than that will hurt my budget. What should I expect to pay for the CDM1SEs? (MSRP versus actual street price?) I think the store (Sound Advice) is charging $550/each for the CDM1SEs. Is that too much? Unfortunately, they are the only AUTHORIZED dealers for B&W in the Miami area. Is there a place on the web where I can purchase them? Sorry for all the questions, but I am scoping alternatives. Thanks.
