4 ohm speakers with 8 ohm receiver

Posted by Brian Woods [IP: 206.141.66.225] on October 27, 1998 at 15:36:44:

I am wondering if i can use 4 ohm speakers on my B channel without hurting the outputs on my stereo receiver. I have an AIWA stereo with 2 150 watt Pioneer speaker and a set of surround sound speakers which includes a center speaker. My pioneer speakers are on the A channel and I am wanting to add 2 4 ohm woofers speakers to the B channel. Can I do it safely, without hurting the outputs.
