I have auditioned both the 310HO and 312HO. If I were to get one of them, I'd go with the 310 over the 312. The extra bass you get with the 312 isn't worth the extra money -especially if you plan on using an external subwoofer. BTW, the 312 doesn't produce enough bass to eliminate the need for a subwoofer. However, the 315 (which I haven't yet heard) might.

These AR towers are good speakers. Especially considering the price being offered at Netmarket.com (or is it Shop4.com?). Don't pay retail...there are much better speakers out there when you begin comparing retail prices. Look at Paradigm. Overall better sound, better prices.

: I've read some magazine reviews of both systems but would like to hear some completely unbiased opinions on these two speakers. Or even the 310HO which is similar. According to the magazines any speaker over $500 a pair sounds "full, rich and images well" which I know is not always true. They will be used for music and HT. Due to travel limitations I will have to buy them before hearing them (I would prefer to not have to send them back). I'm using a Yamaha rx-v992 for my reciever and will be looking into center and surrounds after I've settled on the mains. Any input would be very helpful. Thanks a ton in advance.
