subwoofer testing...

I´m going to buy a subwoofer and want to audition a few at my local dealer. The problem is that I don´t really know what is important when I listen to the subs. Should I bring a test disc with deep bass or just listen to music and movies?

The place where I´m going to listen to the subs doesn´t have the kind of speakers that I have at home (B&W DM302) so I will not know if the sub will match my own speakers.

Could you please give me some useful tips on what is important when auditioning subwoofers.

These are some of the subs I´ll be testing:
Mirage BPS 100 (used, at a good price)
Yamaha YSTSW 150
NHT (don´t know the model name)
Energy (don´t know the model name)

Which one do you think is the best of the Mirage and the Yamaha?
