I have the CS350 as my center channel. I am very disappointed in its overall tonality and performance. I will have to replace it as soon as I can. Even though it was matched for my RT 16's and LS f/x, it sounds way to "boxy" for the towers. I know that the manual states that this speaker can be used in wide mode, but that is wishful thinking -- nice try Matt. It has poor bass response.

I have seen the 400. It looks less attractive than the CS 350, but with those 6.5 drivers, I'd bet the bass is considerably better. The general rule of thumb now is make sure the drivers are at least 5.25" or better for a good center speaker with bass response. The 1000 center channel is a knock out (built-in subwoofer and all)!.

By the way, I have had a good deal of trouble with Polk's trilaminate tweeters. Virtually every one of my tweets (over 14) have shown signs of distortion during heavy choir or organ music.
