ENERGY EPS 150 powered sub

I bought this sub 2 years ago. I am fairly happy with it, however when I raise the frequency roll-off or the level, I get a audible mechanical rumble inside the box towards back. It has done this since I first owned it. The warranty was only good for a year. It dosent' seem to come from the cone, but deep towards the back of it. I notice now more than ever because I started using it for home theater, not just music. Has anyone else noticed this problem? or does anyone know what it is?
