Kenwood vs. Cerwin Vega

I just got into the DD world, and am now looking for a powered subwoofer. I have a $300 spending limit, and I heard that people are raving about the Kenwood 103/1050SW. I just wanted to know how the bass would compare to that of Cerwin Vega's HT-S10/12. I like deep bass, and both are relatively in the same price range. Any comment/suggestions please e-mail me.
