: I just got into the DD world, and am now looking for a powered subwoofer. I have a $300 spending limit, and I heard that people are raving about the Kenwood 103/1050SW. I just wanted to know how the bass would compare to that of Cerwin Vega's HT-S10/12. I like deep bass, and both are relatively in the same price range. Any comment/suggestions please e-mail me.

I have had the Kenwood at my store for awhile and have never been happy with it. It has always clipped very easily with only a little volume. Look into the KSW50 from Klipsch or the BU1 from Infinity. They may not be able to boast as much power but when perfomance matters they blow the Kenwood away. I have not dealt with the CV so can't help you there.

Dan
