Bose AM-10 Bass ....

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 95; SnapHomeBuildB03181999):

I use the am-10 with the kenwood kc-x1+km-x1.I am not happy with the bass.My kc-x1/km-x1 has a output for a sub-woofer.I ould like to know a few things -

* Shud I go in for a sub-woofer ?? If yes will it go well with the am-10 bass unit ??? Is there any way to silence the am-10 bass unit if required.

* If sub-woofer is yes..then shud I go in for a powered subwoofer and use it with the kc-x1 or buy a passive subwoofer and use it with the amp (km-x1).
