Surround Speakers Questions?

Using Mozilla/4.04 [en] (Win95; I ;Nav):

Is it neccessary to use a same brand of speakers for the rear?
Will it affect the sound of my system if I use a locally made rear speakers?

I'm using a TX-DS656 Onkyo Reciever and a DVD player...
