Surround speaker placement for DTS/DD/Pro-Logic

Using Mozilla/4.04 [en] (Win95; I):

Hi there!

I would like some advice on the following:

I have a DTS/DD/Pro-logic THX setup, with the same direct radiating speakers for my main and surround channels.

I have a problem figuring out how to best position my surround speakers.

DTS asks for a symmetrical setup with the speakers the same distance from the listener and at ear level.

Dolby Digital and Pro-Logic/THX ask for positioning the speakers on the sides of the listening position high up.

I have done some experimenting and have found that I liked the DTS advised setup for DTS, but I like the Dolby advised placement for THX/Pro-Logic. Dolby Digital falls somewhat in between.

I wondered what the preferences are in this forum for placement of direct radiating speakers for the different surround systems.

Thanks alot in advance!

Garmt
