Additional Speaker for Domestic Tranquility

I have the Onkyo tx ds-747. Is there any way as cheaply as possible to add 1 more speaker to the system for the kitchen. The sound in the living room is so great that my non-audiophile wife said to me "you've got to add a speaker to the kitchen, please!!!!" I see the schematic in the manual showing the pre-outs to an amplifier to a speaker but this seems like overkill and I can't seem to find an amplifier that doesn't cost a fortune!!!! I'm only talking about a 20' run but I'm "chicken" about running speakers in series or in parallel. Any advice would help keep domestic tranquility!!!.. Thanks again.
