THX + High End Speakers? Is it a no go?

Well I have been checking out speakers lately a lot, and I just have to raise this issue for discussion in this forum. I could use some input about my questions before I purchase some speakers.

I have seen and heard plenty of excellent high end speakers in the past couple months. But very few if any of them has Lucas's "THX" label o' blessing. Now I'm not stupid because I know if a particular vendor wants that label they have to fork over their speakers to Lucas, along with a hefty chunk of cash to get that label. So some vendors don't bother to go for the label, but that doesn't mean their speaker stinks.

But I guess what I'm saying... is it more likely just to find THX specs seakers in a complete "home theatre" system (ie fronts, rears, center, etc..) and not two channel speakers? And I'm sure THX speakers sound good because they must conform to certain standards, but is this horizontal spectrum standard better than a verticle one you might find in high end speaker?

Along with that should high end speakers even be used in a home theatre system? I know this traces along audiophile groud...

Sorry if this is confusing but I guess the question could also be restated to say "Should that THX label be a determination in buying my speakers? Or is it just about what sounds good to me as long as they are high end speakers?"

Again sorry for the rambling, any comments would be *VERY* helpful.

Thanks in advance.
