THX + High End Speakers? Is it a no go?

Is it a no go? posted by David Bronsen on April 28, 1999 at 22:46:08: David, This THX thing sure causes a lot of confusion. The concept of THX to duplicate a movie in a movie theater like it sounded to the director at the dubbing console when it was mixed. The same goes for THX in the home. The standards of design and proprietary circuits of THX controllers help accomplish this. What do you want? To watch a movie and hear exactly what the director intended or not. It is that simple. This is not to say that non THX speakers are bad. There are tons of great speakers. If movies are important to you then you should assemble a THX theater. BTW, the new Star Wars movie was mixed at consoles with M&K THX speakers. Check the link below. I would be happy to discuss this subject further. As you can tell, I am passionate about THX home theater. "The Audience is listening" Irv
