Yamaha R-V905 & Polk RT55's

Using Mozilla/4.06 [en] (Win95; I):

I'm new to "big time audio" so this may be a dumb question. I'm using a pair of Polk RT55's for my front speakers with a Yamaha R-V905 receiver. Are these speakers considered large? The Yamaha has different setting based on speaker size. I've heard that clipping can occur if the settings are off.

Also, I don't have a sub yet, but are the Polk's large enough to handle the extra bass if I sent the sub signal thru the RT55's?
