I did not like the tantals (they were a bookshelf I heard). They sounded very forward like a Boston Accoustics bookshelf. They were also harsh in the upper midrange and the bass was way too loose. (they were auditioned on an Anthem PRE L1 aand an Anthem AMP1 wired with Transparent Cable MusicLInk speaker and Interconnect cables.)

I preferred the Cobalt series far better, even the Opals don't do a bad job.

I would not recommend putting them on the Yamaha. Yamm's are detailed, but they are far more bright at louder levels which would make your system sound unnatural and tiring.
