JMLab Cobalt/Electra vs Martin Logan Script- Help!

Posted by Mike Silentwriter [IP: 142.194.158.3] on May 27, 1999 at 01:27:57
Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; MSN 2.5; MSN 2.5; Windows 98):

I know both of these speakers have a completely different sound, but I am using these for DTS/DD Home theatre, DTS Music and Straight Stereo. I was going to get initially 2 pairs of JMLab Cobalt 810's plus a CC20. Then I thought maybe I should spend the little extra and get 2prs. of Electra 905's plus the CC30. But If I did that, maybe I should get 2prs. Martin LOgan Scripts plus the Cinema...HELP!

Can the Scripts be faithful front speakers, or am I better off with the JMLabs?

I like the Scripts b/c they are up high to heighten the soundstage. But I also want a lot of dynamic range as DTS gives me (another benefit of DTS over Dolby Digital!) and I hear that the Electostats don;t do it as well as "box" speakers. I havn't had a chance to audition that concept.

Please give me some direction!

Thanks!

Mike
