I have seen great reviews of the Hsu Research subs in the past, and their subs are very inexpensive. Well, most of them are. They have one which is rated to 18 Hz, which you can get for $450 + an amp; they have a 500 watt amp which is $650 and a 150 watt amp which is $225. Both are under the $1200 mark. It might be worth checking out.
