I have a pretty good experience level with the '2200, and by nature it is not a slow sounding sub. at all! Unless of course something is wrong in the audio signal chain (preamp., amp., receiver, etc. not up to driving the sub.), or a subwoofer placement problem exists within the room. In fact, the '2200 is one of the better non-servo. subs I have heard. Read my "A Primer for Buying Subs to Reproduce Music" in one of the above posts, it should help you quite a bit for your HT application. ;)
