Acoustic Research 310HO vs. JBL L3

In my opinion they are the better sounding loudspeaker - but for home theater you will need a subwoofer with them, as bass extension and ultimate output is limited. For music I do not feel there is a problem at all with them. To place the L3 into prospective, they were one of 4 "L" series models from JBL at the time, with 2 models (L5 and L7) being larger - only a small bookshelf model being smaller. I do not want to steer you away from the JBLs, but if you are going to run a subwoofer - a more compact monitor is an option for you. If music is all you want - go for them. Alan
