Sub Connection

Using Mozilla/3.0C-IMS (Win95; I):

I am wondering which is the best way to connect the sub to my DSP-A1.

My setup is for home theatre and music. I read from the user guide that A-1 will output the 90Hz or below to the sub and the rest to the main speaker. May be it is good enough for home theatre, but may not be so desirable for music.

Is it better to output the signal from pre-out to the sub and use the cross-over in the sub for input to the main-in that will better preserve the original music signal? (With no sub in the system setup)
