dipole speakers for dolby digital

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt):

I am planning to switch to DD from DPL. My question is... are dipole speakers (NHT DHP-1) usable for DD for the surround channels? The place were I purchased the NHT DHP-1 were using them in a DD setup and they said it is ok.

Will switching the polarity of these speakers change them into bipolars?
