I really wonder if one could tell the difference between tho old component and the new in a bias controlled test. Yes, human bias plays a major role in subjective, sighted evaluations, even with speakers. And yes, speakers can be objectively listen to in blind test that remove the human bias towards one or the other. Measurements do tell you what you can expect from a product.
