:::Hmmm, I think I know what TV's getting at. For Example, lets say I have a sub that puts out 80 DBs at 25Hz. If I add another one I should be up around 83Dbs at 25 Hz.<<< Actually doubling amp power(up to the limits of the driver/enclosure of course)will increase the output by 3dB.
Adding a second powered subwoofer(which would be doubling amp and driver) would equal a 6dB increase...assuming absolute optimal coupling between the drivers. ::: Now I have 2 Subs. If I want another 3dbs wouldn't I have to add 2 subs (double the current power of 2 subs) for a grand total of 4 subs? I don't know I am just asking.:::
You're on the right track, just remember that when you double both the amp AND driver...you get a 6dB gain.
