:: My point is...with xmax of just UNDER 7mm(I erred on the side of the ACI driver prior)...is would defy the laws of physics for a 12" driver in a small (1.9 ft3) enclosure.::

John responded...

:::Odd. :::

No, I'm using the scientific data that has been documented,published,and verified by numerous sources including TOm NOUSAINE and SPEAKER BUILDER mag.

There is nothing *odd* about my data, unless it's anothers ignorance of it.

John continues...

:::Just a few months ago I recieved and Email on this subject from a friend of mine. The point of his letter was that it was no wonder that everybody who listens to the Titan loves it. *HE* ran the numbers and found that, on paper, it looks like a great sub. So, according, at least to HIS book on physics, its not impossible at all.:::

Geeez, citing anonymous sources with ambiguous information now.....is this a joke?

If not, please detail the contents of this *email* that contradict the data I've forwarded , thanks.

I said

::we can extrapolate the titan to (avg) about 100dB from 31-63hz.::

John responds...

:::You can extrapolate all you want on paper, you seem intent on ingnoring what people with experience with the subwoofer tell you that they hear.:::

No, I've never ignored the subjective opinions about the *titan*. I'm simply more concerned with the REAL performance of a subwoofer....compared to YOUR interpretation of the performance of a subwoofer.

:::You also ingnore people's comments on "quality". But thats cool, like I say, to each his own.:::

Which comments? I may have missed something I suppose, it's a 60+ post thread after all. Then again...since quality can be defined in many ways...that's just another subjective term that means a million things to a million people. Some guys think a Bose module provides enough bass for anybody in their *right* mind....some guys think the energy a dozen 18" servos would produce isn't enough.

Funny thing about OBJECTIVE data...the subwoofer either performs , or it DOESN'T! You don't have to worry about purchaser bias, about manufacturer ad. revenue,about various agendas by many reviewers out there....OBJECTIVE data indicates what the subwoofer is,(and more importantly ISN'T) capable of.

:::The only reason I write at all is to allow others with a more open mind on the subject an oppertunity to hear from someone who has listened to the sub in comparison with other subs. As you have expressed your opinion, I hope you will allow me mine.:::

Oh yes, never meant to imply other opinions shouldn't be expressed ! But shouldn't I be allowed to ask questions concerning those opinions?
