:::Personally, I've only heard any of the Hsu subs very briefly at HiFi '99 but my wife objected rather strongly to the black cloth tower look so there really wasn't much point in going any further. On the other hand, the Titan would be a fairly easy sell when it comes to SAF.:::

I agree completely, the HSUs don't seem to make many *looks pretty* points from anyone!

:::As for producing a lot of bass below the 30hz point,:::

Well, even above 30hz, the titan is fairly limited in output...but as we know, the output desired is purely an individual choice.

::: I think that depends a lot on what you listen to. From what I've read and heard it's still pretty rare to come across sub 30 hz bass in most movies and music.:::

Yes, and no. While *most* film effects stay above 30hz , there are an increasing number of <30hz instances these days.....I guess we can thank DVD (partially) for that?

::: And the human mind has an amazing ability to fill in those low frequencies with the higher frequency harmonics that are present. I'm not sure this is that much of an issue in the real world either.:::

Well, I'll disagree with this completely. Ahving suffered with a few subwoofers that couldn't deliver the *goods* under 30hz...I basically was telling myself the same thing you just posted. Once I began using a subwoofer capable of ultra-strong output well BELOW 20hz....I understood I was fooling myself the whole time. Of course, this is MY experiences...YMMV.
