ACI Titan V.S HSU-TN1225HO

Something like a nice Carpathian Burled Elm would probably be just the ticket. ::Yes, and no. While *most* film effects stay above 30hz , there are an increasing number of <30hz instances these days.....I guess we can thank DVD (partially) for that?:: Increasing, yes. Prevelant, I just don't know... ::Well, I'll disagree with this completely. Ahving suffered with a few subwoofers that couldn't deliver the *goods* under 30hz...I basically was telling myself the same thing you just posted.:: I have a feeling that we're also getting into the area of tactile response here, which is a whole different matter. This is another non-issue for me as my family room is in the lower level of a late '60s split. The floor is carpeted concrete and the walls are wallpaper over plaster over concrete on three sides. The only place we get much tactile response is in the room directly above the family room... Don't think that hasn't caused its fair share of, um, discussions.. :) I think what we're dealing with is two completely different sets of criteria. My primary concern is that the music side of the equation is right and that means I'm most concerned with the quality of the sound down to about 40 hz. As such, a subwoofer isn't even a required element in my system and must not detract at all from music performance. Having a sub there for movies is just icing on the cake for me... I don't think we actually disagree on much of anything, other than what we require a subwoofer to do... Jeff
