Vienna Mozart question about Frequency response..

Usually manufacturers report frequency response as something like 35Hz to 20,000 Hz +/- 3db, which means that it will put out signals from 35 to 20,000 Hz without varying more than 3db. 35 is a pretty good number for a low end and I've heard the Mozarts and like them a lot sound-wise. On the high end, 20,000 Hz is usually considered as far as any tweeters need to go since human hearing over age 30 drops fairly fast past 10,000 Hz, although there is some discussion about this from a theoretical point of view. Suffice it to say that few people worry too much about the upper specs on a speaker unless they are below 20,000 Hz. It's the low end that is almost always the hard part to reproduce. Both the Dynaudio and VA Mozart are very nice speakers -- I would worry more about how they sound to you and in your system than what their rated frequency specifications are. Shawn Harvey
