Speaker-level vs Line-level sub connections??????

Apologies for any confusion or offence I may have caused either Don or yourself. Simon, No problem. I should have mentioned in my posting that the Pinnacle 350 sub output includes a passive, speaker-level high-pass filter that is first-order and fixed at 80Hz. So it seems to have safeguards against side-speaker overload on Tripoles which have LF limit at 80Hz. Since, as you say there are mixed opinions as to whether a line-level or speaker level is best, speaker-level seems okay for me. It permits a high-level signal over my 50-foot run and also it's one less wire to run around the room. There's enough of those already ): thanks for your input,
