Speaker polarity: which is what on an old stereo?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; MSN 2.6; Windows 95):

Recently, I installed a new Denon A/V system which I think is outstanding...

Anyway, I have a basic question about connecting speakers on an old system. Specifically, using its original old spec wiring (the kind that has both +/- integrated into one coax plug), I cannot remember which is what, i.e., is some help.the wire marked by a stripe positive or negative (ground)? I'd be grateful for

Sorry for such a dumb question, but I've become so use to red and black color coding, that I seem to have forgotten my basics.
