subwoofer pre output or main

Using Mozilla/4.04 [en] (Win95; I):
I recently purchased a Dolby Digital receiver and a satellite/subwoofer
speaker set up. But I have a dilemma. The Polk speaker system (RM6500) recommends hooking up the subwoofer to the front speaker outputs of the Onkyo
receiver (TX-DS575) and using the subwoofers crossover (150Hz) to the front speakers. Not using the separate subwoofer Pre output on the receiver (80Hz crossover). If I use this setup am I missing any information/signal that is exclusive to
the subwoofer output for Dolby Digital DVD's?
